Well done, Ms. Kaelin. Also, please don't forget that beneath the surface coating, there can be such wonderful materials as asbestos in the taping and joint compounds or underlying substrate. Just one more thing to be aware of when sampling in older buildings.

Congratulations Mr. Kaelin. Your article emphasize an aspect that could be broaded. To decise among a lot of paints the owner/engeneer are based on either laboratory and standars procedures. The choice of paint system is stemed on those criteria. However, the perform of painted surface is much more environment dependent than lab tests. So, aside waste, all polluents from environment must be considered firstly
