Hello Mark, We are searching for a coating to go over existing exterior prefinished metal panels that can provide a warranty of 15+ years. The existing finish we believe is Kynar. The steel panels are rusting along the bottom of the wall in a few areas which will have to be repaired. But the Owner desires a new paint coating that will freshen up the large steel garages in this maintenance facility. Any assistance recomending a product or manufacturer would be appreciated.
Thank you, Dave Macken

Dave, I always feel the best first action is to contact the manufacturer of the existing coating and ask them to confirm your belief of what it is and then ask them for recommendations for recoat. Fluoropolymers of some types are extremely difficult to recoat without extensive surface preparation. If you would like more information, I would be willing to contact you directly.

Hello Dave, i agree with Marc's comment about recoatability but we have a PVDF primer and then air drying fluoropolymer (FEVE) that will easily give 15 year + warranty. Rusting areas will need to be thoroughly prepared and epoxy primed.
