The article is very good in covering the history & types of graffiti, along with the types of coatings on the market and the importance of meeting ASTM requirements. The one area perhaps not covered in more detail was the effectiveness of polysiloxane coatings (available in clear our various colors) and their ability to last for many years , while allowing for 99% of all spray paint graffiti to be power washed off with plain cold water. At the sametime, because of their very good Moisture Vapor Transmission results (ASTM D 1653), they also act as a sealer for fresh cement, while providing the anti-graffiti protection, all in one application. Polysiloxane coatings can be used on many substrates, including metal, brick, cement, wood and plastic.
