I specify sprayfoam primarily for flat roofs covered with crushed limestone for UV protection and foot traffic. I have yet to find a elastomeric coating that will stand up to both. My last roof project used Bayer foam, crushed limestone and coating on eaves and penetrations. Looks good but time will tell.

Spray applied polyurethane foam protected from UV with a silicone coating for experior applications is not something new. It has been used on cylindrical tanks and commercial roofs for decades because of its unexceled thermal value and longevity. Now, more than ever, it is being specified and applied because it provide the ultimate in energy cost savings. With an FM Approved, high solids silicone coating as the protective coating, spray applied polyurethane foam exterior applications will outperform other types of systems.
