What do our experts make of the 'one size fits all' approach of certain paint manufacturers, particularly on the interior latex side, where one paint is both a primer and a top coat? I believe Glidden markets one of their paints this way.
Of course builders have been turning a blind eye to contractors using a normal latex as a primer with the addition of a little water and then the next coat as the top coat.

Sherwin Williams has the wonderful 'test quarts' to use for color testing but not for the actual finish. Question: how do they make the accurate color in a non-final-finish product? Is it a different formula for the tints based on the base material used? Just wondering! They do state that the coating is for color testing only, not to be used as final paint surface.
