Moisture problems can occur in poured-in-place concrete pre-cast, tilt-up, and CMU (concrete masonry units). Methods for determining the moisture content are presented, including relative humidity probes, anhydrous calcium chloride, plastic sheet tests, and a variety of electronic instruments.

He is a Past Chairman of ASTM D1 on Paints and Related Coatings, Materials, and Applications, and authored The Industrial Lead Paint Removal Handbook.
