Cost: FREE Excessive moisture in cementitious substrates can cause coatings to fail, and surfaces to be disfigured from stains or efflorescence. Moisture problems can occur in poured-in-place concrete pre-cast, tilt-up, and CMU (concrete masonry units). Methods for determining the moisture content are presented, including relative humidity probes, anhydrous calcium chloride, plastic sheet tests, and a variety of electronic instruments.
