A coatings specification can be complex and sometimes a confusing document to navigate through. Yet, it is regarded as the rulebook for quality control and quality assurance personnel responsible for inspecting the quality of work on a coating's installation project. This webinar will review essential items to consider when writing a quality specification for a typical protective coating system that is being applied to a bridge. Presenter: Derrick Castle Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Mr. Castle is the Chemical and Corrosion Laboratory Specialist for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. Throughout his career, Derrick has been actively involved in specification development and inspection training for the Transportation Cabinet. He is an active member of SSPC, serving as a member of the Board of Governors and Chair of the Standards Review Committee. He is recognized by SSPC as a lead instructor for the Bridge Coatings Inspection for the Transportation Industry course and as a Protective Coatings Specialist. He is also an active member of the American Association of State Highway Transportation Officials and ASTM.
