Some in Congress have adopted a “zero compromise” approach to the federal budget, no matter the consequences. What do you think of this approach?

The question was not very well worded. Do they mean the Democrats that insist on increased spending and taxes? Or do they mean the Republicans who demand spending be cut? Personally I feel we have gone over the limit with our credit card and we need to stop all this radical spending. Remember - Government has no money. They have only the tax dollars taken from us...and our kids and grand kids and our great grand kids....Since we are already taxed to death the only option is to stop spending!

I agree. If you’re already over your head in debt STOP adding to it and start cutting out things you don’t need. You will never get ahead if you keep writing checks when you have no money in the bank. Quite frankly every one of them should be fired.... 2 term limits and you’re out. Have you ever watched any of the congressional sessions on tv and see the room full? I say if you are a senator or congressman and you miss more than 5% of all sessions for a year you lose your job. How long would we keep ours if we never showed up for work and always on vacation?

Arthur and Jim, I have to agree. Even Sequestration...which really is a drop in the bucket when you're adding ~$850 BILLION to the debt every year...doesn't even start to control the fiscal hemorrhaging of the US government. The only reason the US isn't in the same boat as Spain, Italy and Greece right now is the fact that they have a big GDP and tax base...but if they keep spending money like they are, then even the US can go bankrupt.

What irks me the most is that Congress is not being honest about sequestration. None of them have explained to people that the agencies are not going to get any less money. What they are going to get is just less of an INCREASE! If we lie to a cop it is breaking the law, but when they lie to us it is fine? Time to shed ourselves of the liars. We desperately need Term Limits...but again, politicians refuse to act against furthering their positions.
