Poorly trained and poorly supervised staff is one of the main reasons for coating failure; skipping steps due to speed is just another face of a poorly trained staff, who ought to know the consequences of skipping steps.

Poorly supervised could/should have been a stand alone answer as they are accountable for skipping steps, training their workers and communication. I'm afraid the do as your told is still very much alive and well in the field. Oh, did I mention where does proper inspection catagory come into play?

I believe many contractors and of coarse un-licensed painting companies look more to the bottom line and skip prep procedures or use inferior products. Which tells me they don't care! There is a reason I have been in the painting industry for 34 years!
