Zinsser introduced the Zinsser Paint and Finish Removers product line, described as a comprehensive range of products that includes traditional paint removers, specialty project removers, “eco-friendly” removers, and products for wood preparation and cleanup.
The traditional removers are conventional methylene-chloride products for the toughest jobs, including Power Stripper, reported to quickly remove multiple layers in one step; Spray-On Stripper, a semi-paste stripper that clings to vertical and rounded surfaces; and Paint & Varnish Stripper for more routine projects.
The specialty removers are project-specific methylene-chloride paint and finish removers, including Furniture Refinisher, a remover for fine furniture and antiques; Detail Stripper, formulated for use on carvings, grooves, and detailed areas; and Adhesive Remover for removing hardened adhesives and mastics.
The eco-friendly removers include three “green” options:
· Zinsser Paint and Finish Remover with Soyzol, a qualified product for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s “Design for the Environment” program, contains a powerful soy-based formula that removes up five layers without harsh chemicals;
· Magic Strip Citrus-Action Gel, described as a safe and effective remover that is low in odor and recommended for use indoors; and
· Magic Strip Paint & Varnish Remover, a stripper that is reported to remove seven or more layers of paint in one step also are included in the line.
The products for wood preparation and cleanup include Zinsser Wood Bleach, which lightens new or stripped wood; Paint Deglosser for prepping glossy surfaces; Stripper Wash for removing stripper residue; and Brush and Roller Wash for cleaning and restoring dirty and hardened brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
