The project includes erecting staged containment for the abrasive blast-cleaning and recoating of the steel through truss spans, which were built in 1919. Amtrak, also known as the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, funded the project with its $1.3B allotment from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
