The project, estimated at more than $1 million, involves interior and exterior pipe coating at Los Banos Creek Detention Dam. Bids are due June 12.

Interior and exterior surfaces of the piping will be cleaned and coated with a 100 percent solids elastomeric epoxy system.

The work also includes recoating the downstream side of emergency release slide gates; the upstream side of two discharge slide gates; and various expansion joints, ladders, handrails, bypass lines, air inlet piping, interior gate chamber piping and nine-foot-diameter drop intake bulkhead gate plug surfaces.

Bidding contractors must be SSPC-QP 1 and QP2 certified.

About the Dam

Built in 1964, the Los Banos Creek Detention Dam is 160 feet tall with a 1,370-foot crest length and has a normal surface water elevation of 327.8 feet. The damsite is located in the Los Banos Creek Canyon. The creek drains roughly 160 square miles of The Diablo Range and is known for its excellent fishing.
