NACE International - The Corrosion Society has announced the appointment of Matthew M. Miller as Director of Education.

Miller joins NACE after 12 years with SAE International, where he was director of the SAE Foundation and Pre-Professional Programs. SAE is a global association of more than 128,000 engineers and related technical experts in the aerospace, automotive and commercial-vehicle industries. The foundation is the organization's charitable arm.

Matthew M. Miller will help "meet the growing education needs of corrosion professionals worldwide," NACE said.

Miller was responsible for setting the foundation's strategic direction and overseeing its operations and fundraising activities, including the award-winning A World In Motion and Collegiate Design Series programs. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, development and administration of education programs, program management, improving operational efficiencies, and working with volunteer leaders and members.

'Growing Education Needs'

“Matt’s leadership and fresh perspective will be an asset to NACE educational programming,” said Bob Chalker, NACE executive director. “His wealth of knowledge and experience could not be a better fit for our organization as we strive to meet the growing education needs of corrosion professionals worldwide.”

Miller holds a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Management from Robert Morris University and in Instructional Technology from Duquesne University. He will be working from the NACE International Headquarters office in Houston, TX.

NACE - Corrosion 101

Founded in 1943 as the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, NACE serves 30,000 members worldwide with standards, training and education programs.

“I’m excited to join an organization with such strong education programs, an actively involved membership, and extensive global reach,” said Miller. “I look forward to working directly with members, stakeholders, and NACE staff to further the organization’s vision for making corrosion education accessible globally.”

Founded in 1943, NACE serves 30,000 members in 130 countries. The organization offers technical training and certification programs, conferences, industry standards, reports, publications, and software to prevent and mitigate corrosion.
