General Equipment Company has upgraded its SP8/A Pneumatic Surface Planer, designed for a wide variety of cleaning, coatings removal and surface preparation applications on marine/industrial projects where high-pressure air is readily available.

The SP8/A planer features an 8.5-horsepower (6.3-kW) Model 16 Gast pneumatic motor, a unitized welded steel-plate frame, exclusive full-length hexagon driveshaft, and high-capacity double-row sealed bearings to give the unit extended service life, the manufacturer says.

PS8/A Pneumatic Surface Planer

The SP8/A Pneumatic Surface Planer is designed for a wide variety of cleaning, coatings removal and surface preparation tasks on marine/industrial projects.

The planer offers an eight-inch maximum cutting width and a 5/8-inch maximum cutting depth that is controlled by the Quik-Pitch lever/drum engagement system for precise adjustment. Maximum free-air consumption is 250 CFM at 100 PSI, reports General Equipment.

Other Features

Other features include an external lubrication system, integrated pressure regulator, motor lubricator and an industry standard 3-inch diameter vacuum port for use with appropriate industrial dust control systems.

In business for more than 50 years, General Equipment Company is a family-owned manufacturer of earth augers, ventilation blowers, asphalt cutters and surface preparation equipment.
