DeFelsko’s new PosiTector 6000 FHXS Xtreme coating thickness gage measures coatings up to 400 mils (10,000 microns) thick in rugged environments.

Designed with an alumina wear face and braided steel cable, the gage is designed for measuring on hot or rough surfaces up to 250°C (500°F). The probe is sturdy and large enough to use with gloves, according to DeFelsko.

2 Models

The FHXS Xtreme is available in Standard (FHXS1) and Advanced (FHXS3) models.

FHXS1 Xtreme FHXS1 Xtreme

The FXHS Xtreme coating thickness gage has an alumina wear face and braided cable for rough surfaces up to 250°C (500°F). Two models are available.

Both models include a standard gage body, FHXS probe, precision plastic shims, protective rubber holster with belt clip, wrist strap, three AAA alkaline batteries, instructions, nylon carrying case with shoulder strap, protective lens shield, Long Form Certificate of Calibration traceable to NIST, USB cable, and two-year warranty.

The advanced model also includes:

  • Color high-contrast LCD display;
  • SSPC PA2 feature set, to determine if film thickness over a large area conforms to user-specified min/max levels;
  • PSPC 90/10 feature, to determine if a coating system complies with an IMO performance standard for protective coatings;
  • Wireless technology for data transfer to a PC or optional portable printer;
  • Onscreen help, real time graphing, picture prompting and batch notes; and
  • Multiple stored calibration adjustments for measuring on a variety of substrate conditions.
