Specialty chemicals maker Evonik Degussa Corporation has dropped "Degussa" from its name and is now operating as Evonik Corporation.
Additionally, Evonik Stockhausen LLC, the producer of skin care products and superabsorbent polymers, has merged into Evonik Corporation.
"Simplifying our name to Evonik Corporation formalizes a shift in corporate strategy," said company president Tom Bates.

The change will help strengthen Evonik's brand, said Reinhold Brand, head of consumer specialties in North America. “These changes emphasize the Evonik brand and reflect the company's long-term strategy to advance its global image,” he said.
Evonik Industries offers a variety of raw materials for the paints, printing inks, and coatings industries, as well as for adhesives, sealing compounds, and elastomers. Transparent coatings from Evonik Industries protect exterior building surfaces against graffiti and damage caused by sunlight.
With 33,000 employees worldwide, the Germany-based company is active in more than 100 countries and operates production plants in 24 countries.
