More items for Coating Application

For those who need to test coatings adhesion in small spaces and on a variety of substrates, a new, portable pull-off adhesion tester is now available from Elcometer.

The Elcometer 506 is designed to be lightweight, portable, and easy to use. Available in analog or digital versions, the unit can measure the pull-off adhesion of coatings up to 50 MPa (7250 psi) either on site or in a laboratory, the company says.

Elcometer says its new gage is ideal for confined spaces and site or laboratory testing.

Uniform Force, Small Spaces

The Elcometer 506 is designed to ensure that uniform force is easily applied throughout the range by rotating the gage's crank handle. According to the company, the gage ensures repeatable results to plus or minus 1 percent.

The unit features quick-connect coupling for attaching 14.2 mm, 20 mm, or 50 mm diameter dollies, which allow coating adhesion testing on flat, curved, thick, and thin substrates, including metal, wood, concrete, or other fibrous materials.

The gage's test head has been designed to be small, ergonomic, and light weight—ideal for testing with only one free hand or in awkward or confined spaces, the company says. The test head can also be secured with a magnetic clamp accessory for testing on vertical surfaces without accidental damage to the surrounding area.

About Elcometer

Elcometer, headquartered in Manchester, UK, is a global manufacturer of high-quality inspection equipment with specialized divisions dedicated to coatings inspection, ultrasonic non-destructive testing inspection, concrete inspection, and metal detection.
