Rebar segment leader Rob Phillippi has been in technical and sales roles with DuPont Powder Coatings for 15 years.

In addition to DuPont's history with its Nap-Gard fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE) products, the company recently launched a new rebar coating that is designed to lay the groundwork for aggressive growth in the rebar market.

“With this new rebar coating and our commitment to future development, I am very excited about this new role and our path forward in the rebar market,” said Phillippi.

Changing Identity

DuPont Powder Coatings, a business unit within DuPont Performance Coatings, is a global supplier of powder coatings systems aimed at combining optimal corrosion protection with a strong aesthetic appeal.

Global alternative asset manager The Carlyle Group and DuPont recently announced sale of the Performance Coatings business to Carlyle. That deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2013.

DPC is a global supplier of vehicle and industrial coating systems with 2012 expected sales of more than $4 billion and more than 11,000 employees.

“Though our name will change in early 2013, the commitment to this market will remain strong," said Phillippi.
