Older industrial, marine and automotive paint applications may see new life with a new wipe-on nanocoating designed to permanently restore color, gloss, and surface hardness.
Nanovere Technologies has introduced what it bills as the "world's first wipe-on clear coating," an air- and humidity-cured, one-component clear coating.
Vecdör Nano-Clear Wipe-On Coating is a highly cross-linked polyurethane based nanocoating system that cures with air temperature greater than 30°F and relative humidity greater than 30 percent. The company says it will provide a full cure in 48 hours at 50 percent relative humidity.
Nano-Clear Wipe-On Coating will permanently restore gloss, color, and hardness to several materials, according to the company.
Nano-Clear was developed to permanently restore original color, gloss, and surface hardness back into oxidized textured plastics and highly oxidized paint surfaces, according to the company.
The product provides scratch, chemical, corrosion, and UV resistance, while repelling water, oil, ice, and brake dust, the manufacturer says.
The company says that application potential includes boat hulls; oxidized paint surfaces, including heavy-duty equipment; automotive textured plastics; aluminum and steel wheels; and more.
Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Brighton, MI, Nanovere Technologies specializes in the research, development, manufacturing, and licensing of 3D nanostructured coating resins and nanocoatings.
Vecdör Nanocoatings were specifically designed to extend the life of industrial and marine paint surfaces, as well as automotive OEM, automotive aftermarket, and aerospace paint surfaces. The company says it is dedicated to solving complex coating application issues.
