The product is a solvent-based alternative to the company's WB Acrolon 100, a high-performance, water-based polyurethane introduced in 2008.
Extending the Recoat Cycle
“Our accelerated weathering testing and field experience is showing this coating’s superior gloss retention extends the recoat cycle as much as two times, providing the lowest total cost of ownership to our customers,” said Narsi Bodapati, vice president of marketing for the company’s Protective & Marine Coatings business.
The coating is designed to provide “excellent” hiding and film formation at 2-3 mils DFT and is suitable for use in USDA-inspected facilities, the manufacturer says.
Acrolon Ultra can be applied by brush, roller, or airless or conventional spray equipment and dries to the touch “in as few as two hours” after application, according to the company. It can be shaded to virtually any color through the company’s 4,000 facilities worldwide.
