Global zinc producer U.S. Zinc has chosen a new president from the executive ranks of its parent firm, Votorantim Metais.

New president Rodrigo Daud is a former Votorantim executive vice president of commercial zinc for the global market. He will be responsible for promoting the global integration and leveraging the results of U.S. Zinc.

Rodrigo Daud is the new president at U.S. Zinc.
“U.S. Zinc is a solid and well-known company with very good operations and a strong team,” said new president Rodrigo Daud.

“U.S. Zinc is a solid and well-known company with very good operations and a strong team,” said Daud, who has been with Votorantim since 1999. “We are in a good position to improve the return to our shareholders. I look forward to leveraging our history and global footprint to grow our zinc product lines.”

‘Exceptional Leadership’

As EVP of commercial zinc, Daud developed new markets and products for the company’s presence in Brazil and Peru. He also served as the head of operations at one of the plants of Votorantim’s Nickel Business for three years.

“Rodrigo brings a high level of energy to every position he holds,” said Valdecir Botassini, zinc business director. “He has exceptional leadership skills and an uncanny ability to form alliances and build teams. He is an ideal individual to execute our new strategic plan and set us on a path for overall growth.”

With this promotion, Daud and his family will relocate from São Paulo, Brazil, to Houston, where U.S. Zinc is based.
