Global zinc producer U.S. Zinc has chosen a new president from the executive ranks of its parent firm, Votorantim Metais.
New president Rodrigo Daud is a former Votorantim executive vice president of commercial zinc for the global market. He will be responsible for promoting the global integration and leveraging the results of U.S. Zinc.

I look forward to leveraging our history and global footprint to grow our zinc product lines.”
‘Exceptional Leadership’
As EVP of commercial zinc, Daud developed new markets and products for the company’s presence in Brazil and Peru. He also served as the head of operations at one of the plants of Votorantim’s Nickel Business for three years.
“Rodrigo brings a high level of energy to every position he holds,” said Valdecir Botassini, zinc business director. “He has exceptional leadership skills and an uncanny ability to form alliances and build teams. He is an ideal individual to execute our new strategic plan and set us on a path for overall growth.”
With this promotion, Daud and his family will relocate from São Paulo, Brazil, to Houston, where U.S. Zinc is based.
