NHT-5600 is a 100% solids, VOC-free epoxy formulated to work with FBE coated pipe. The coating provides a pot life of 15 to 25 minutes at 97° Fahrenheit, according to Polyguard.
Applications
NHT-5600 is made for protection of field joint girth welds, exposed valves, fittings, pipeline coating rehabilitation, and as a holiday repair material on FBE coated pipe. The product is appropriate for pipes under railroad crossings, in tunnels, and in casings, according to Polyguard, based in Ennis, TX.
The coating can be applied with brush, roller or trowel.
Features and Characteristics
NHT-5600 is formulated to provide chemical, abrasion and impact resistance; a gradual, controlled chemical reaction; fast touch, dry, and cure times; and high build (up to 50 mils in a single coat).
The odor-free, isocyanate-free product features high-temperature cathodic disbondment resistance tested to 175°F (80°C), according to Polyguard.
Ambient conditions for successfully applying the coating include relative humidity less than 85 percent and temperature greater than 5 degrees Celsius.
