Has your firm recently completed an industrial or commercial coatings project of great peril, complexity, beauty—or all three?
SSPC is accepting nominations from members for its 2013 Structure Awards, which recognize the often-unsung achievements of contractors, designers, end users and manufacturers on coatings projects.

The Society for Protective Coatings will present the awards Jan. 14 at SSPC 2013, in San Antonio, TX. The winners will also appear later in JPCL and PaintSquare News.
Coatings projects on all types of structures are eligible, including work on bridges, tanks, concrete structures, and industrial and commercial facilities.
Except for the longevity award and the Military Coatings Project Award of Excellence (detailed below), nominated projects must have been completed between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. The deadline for submissions is Oct. 15.

|The Hart Bridge rehabilitation, in Jacksonville, FL, received a 2012 George Campbell Award for achievement of a complex coatings project. The project required 38 separate containments and a new specification system, but was completed ahead of schedule.|
A representative of the structure owner must attend the awards luncheon to accept the award and grant permission for the information to appear in JPCL.
The Structure Awards feature these categories.
Crone Knoy Award: For outstanding industrial or commercial coatings work that demonstrates innovation, durability or utility.
Charles G. Munger (Longevity) Award: For an outstanding industrial or commercial project that demonstrates longevity of the original coating.
William Johnson Award: For industrial or commercial coatings projects that demonstrate exceptional aesthetic merit.
George Campbell Award: For outstanding completion of a difficult or complex industrial or commercial coatings project.
Military Coatings Project Award of Excellence: For exceptional coatings work on U.S. military ships, structures or facilities.
