Dur-A-Flex Inc. has introduced two new decorative floor coating systems that combine the company’s epoxy and methyl methacrylate (MMA) resins with the look of natural mica flakes.
| Both coating systems are available in six standard colors and three blends of micro and macro sizes.|
The new Mica-Flex M and Mica-Flex E coatings both offer solid color or blended mica flakes in an anti-slip formulation designed for high-traffic areas. Both are engineered to be UV-, chemical- and abrasion resistant, to deliver durability and consistent color for the life of the floor, the manufacturer says.
Both systems are available in six standard colors and three blends of micro and macro sizes.
About the Systems
Mica-Flex M is a 1/16" all-MMA broadcast system designed to install and cure quickly in most climates. Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications, the product finish has a natural metallic luster and meets USDA/FDA and CIFA requirements. The system consists of a primer coat of Cryl-A-Prime P-101, followed by a broadcast of micro or macro chips into Cryl-A-Glaze G-201, and finished with two topcoats of Cryl-A-Top T-301.
Mica-Flex E is a low-odor, 1/16" epoxy-based broadcast system finished with Dur-A-Flex’s Armor Top urethane topcoat. The system is comprised of four coats of 100% solids epoxy, natural mica flakes and topcoat.
“In assisting facility owners in selecting decorative options, architects, interior designers and Dur-A-Flex flooring contractors have two more choices to offer that are compatible with our epoxy and MMA seamless flooring systems,” says Ron Phillips, product manager.
Based in East Hartford, CT, Dur-A-Flex offers a wide variety of seamless commercial and industrial MMA, epoxy, hybrid and urethane floor and wall systems. The company’s product portfolio includes primers and sealers, membrane and crack fillers, resurfacers and performance topcoats.
