BASF has introduced MasterTop VB 240 FS, a moisture mitigation coating for use with resinous flooring systems.
The high-performance epoxy is designed to “bond aggressively” to concrete while providing moisture vapor protection for long-lasting floor installations, according to BASF.
Part of BASF’s Performance Flooring line, MasterTop VB 240 FS reduces the permeance of moisture vapor through concrete substrates to levels that are acceptable for the installation of resinous floor coatings.
Features and Applications
MasterTop VB 240 FS is formulated as a one-coat, one-to-one ratio system to reduce labor, material and rework costs. The 100 percent solids, VOC-free, rapid-curing product allows flooring to be installed in as little as three hours, minimizing facility down time.
The coating is recommended for health facilities, laboratories, warehouses and other areas where downtime must be kept to a minimum. Used with SRS (methyl methacrylate systems), Selby (epoxy systems) and other BASF seamless flooring systems, MasterTop VB 240 FS can help provide durable, sanitary flooring customized to meet the needs of each facility, the manufacturer said.
