Elcometer is marking the first anniversary of its Elcometer 456 Coating Thickness Gauges with a second scheduled upgrade designed to enhance performance.
 |
| Real-time graphing of batch readings on the new Elcometer 456 allows inspectors to visually identify trends in the coating thickness. |
The free update includes:
• A new live reading trend graph that allows users to view the last 20 measurement values as they take readings;
• The doubling of memory on the Elcometer 456 Model S and T gauges. Users may now store up to 150,000 readings in 2,500 batches;
• Calibration Pin Code Lock, ensuring that users do not accidentally change their calibration settings; and
• A “tap awake” feature, allowing the user to tap the gauge to wake the display.
To upgrade, customers connect their gauge to a web-enabled PC running ElcoMaster 2.0 software and follow the on-screen instructions for the free upgrade process.
Features and Options
With a measurement capability to ±1% on smooth, rough, thin and curved surfaces, the Elcometer 456 is available in a range of models for measuring dry film thickness on both ferrous and non-ferrous metal substrates.
The unit measures more than 70 readings per minute on its 2.4-inch color display. It is impact resistant and sealed against dust and water to a rating equivalent to IP64.
The Elcometer 456 outputs readings via Bluetooth or USB to ElcoMaster 2.0 data management software or the ElcoMaster for Android App, creating professional inspection reports in minutes in the office or on site.
“Once we launch a gauge, we continue its development,” said John Fletcher, Elcometer’s Technical Support Manager “Our aim is to give our customers products that include the most up-to-date features throughout the life of the product.”
