Oudra was rolled out regionally in February at the 14th Middle East Corrosion Conference in Bahrain. It is expected to reach the North American market later this year.
‘Key Growth Market’
DCM’s new Saudi facility will be located at Jubail Industrial City on the Arabian Gulf, one of the country’s eight major industrial complexes. The plant will manufacture a wide range of coating materials for both Saudi and export markets.
“By investing in a new coatings facility in Saudi Arabia, we are moving closer to our regional customers, and realizing our regional business objectives in a key growth market for Dow,” said Jerome Peribere, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dow Advanced Materials Division (AMD).

Saudi Investments
The new facility is the latest in Dow’s series of investments in Saudi Arabia. The company’s presence there began 35 years ago with two joint ventures with E.A. Juffali & Brothers and Arabian Chemical Company Ltd., manufacturing Styrofoam insulation in Jeddah and latex in Jubail.
In July 2011, Dow and Saudi Aramco announced an agreement to form Sadara Chemical Co., a joint venture to build and operate a major chemical complex in Jubail. The complex is expected to be among the world’s largest petrochemical facilities and would represent the largest foreign direct investment into Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical sector.
