International Paint Names Protective Coating Tech Manager

International Paint LLC, an AkzoNobel company, has promoted Brad Berkmeyer to Protective Coatings Technical Manager for North America.

Berkmeyer had served since 2007 as International Paint’s Protective Coatings Technical Manager for U.S. operations.

Brad Berkmeyer will oversee all technical services for the International Paint, Enviroline and Ceilcote brands in North America.

In his new role, Berkmeyer will oversee all technical services, support, and Research and Technology (R&T) activities for the company’s International Paint, Devoe, Enviroline and Ceilcote brands in the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Berkmeyer has more than 15 years of R&T experience in the coatings industry, ranging from emulsion polymer development to the formulation of solvent- and water-based consumer and industrial coatings. He began his career with AkzoNobel in 2004 as R&D Manager for the company’s Decorative Coatings business.

‘Proven Expertise’

“We are delighted to move Brad into this expanded senior management role,” said Chris Tiernay, Vice President of Protective Coatings for North America. “His proven expertise in technical development and management will be a tremendous asset and support to our ongoing R&T efforts throughout North America.”

Berkmeyer earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Baldwin Wallace College and a master’s degree in Polymer Science from the University of Akron. He holds NACE CIP Level 2 certification.

International Paint Protective Coatings provides a full range of high-performance protective coatings, linings and fire-protection products.
