Larson Electronics has introduced several new lighting options for industrial and commercial painting and blast cleaning operations.
Paint Spray Booth Lighting
Larson has expanded its range of explosion-proof LED lights with the Magnalight EPLC-48-4L-LED paint spray booth-certified LED light.

The EPLC-48-4L-LED is designed to provide 50,000 hours of lamp life and explosion-proof protection for work in hazardous locations.
According to Larson, these paint spray booth-certified lights offer more light output than high-output fluorescent alternatives, with lower electricity usage and five-year bulb life.
“Operators of paint spray booths are looking for a simple, manageable way to position bright, white explosion proof lighting where they need it,” said Rob Bresnahan of Magnalight.com, which offers detailed guidelines on paint spray booth lighting on its site.
“This wheeled cart enables operators to move a 125-pound paint spray booth light around easily and position it beside, or even beneath, the object they are painting,” said Bresnahan. “The LED light fixture carries UL Class 1 and Class 2 ratings and a paint spray booth rating.”
The light is configured with a four-wheeled cart, explosion proof switch and power cord.
LED Blasting Light
The Magnalight BL70-LED Magnetic Mount Blasting Light combines LED technology and heavy-duty materials to provide effective illumination during blasting operations involving sand, water, and other media where the ambient atmosphere is often contaminated with dust and debris.

Designed with an extruded aluminum housing that resists damage from exposure to sand, water, dust and high vibratory conditions, this unit is suited for use in abusive environments.
Available peel-off Mylar lens protectors increase durability and provide the impact-resistant polycarbonate lens with additional protection against scratching and damage.
A 200-pound grip magnetic base provides a variety of mounting options and will hold the light firmly in place, even under high vibratory conditions, the manufacturer says.
The light includes 50 feet of SOOW cord for connecting to power sources outside the work area. The 10-watt Cree LEDs are rated at 50,000 hours of use, and the IP68 rating allows users to simply hose the unit down after use—even with high-pressure spray—without worrying about internal water contamination.
"A lot of operators are looking for a UL-listed, LED magnetic back lights for low-voltage applications," said Bresnahan. "The BL70-LED light outperforms standard 500-watt quartz in light output, creates minimal heat, and lasts 20-40 times longer than standard incandescent back lights."
