Bayer MaterialScience LLC has appointed Marc Daniel Block as director of regional key account sales for its Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties (CAS) business unit.
In this role, Block leads the entire U.S. CAS regional key account sales team. He also serves as head of the technical sales team and the Single Point of Contact office in the NAFTA region.

The CAS unit makes raw materials for a variety of high-performance coatings, adhesives and specialty products. The product portfolio includes raw materials for protective primers, top coats and direct-to-metal coatings, as well as polyurethane coatings for heavy corrosion protection in marine applications as well as protection of pipelines, industrial facilities, bridges, energy plants and other steel structures.
This is the first U.S. position for Block, who was previously based in China, Spain and Germany.
Block has worked at Bayer for 11 years, starting as an industrial sales clerk for Bayer AG and moving through several roles with increasing responsibilities. Most recently, he served as director, global product management for CAS, where he managed Bayer’s resin product line in the Asia Pacific region.

Block graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany, with a business diploma in marketing and controlling. He earned his master’s degree in business administration from the Nanyang Business School in Singapore in 2005.
