ERS Inks Distribution Deal, Expands Team

Engineered Resin Solutions has signed a deal with ErgonArmor to sell ERS NovoCoat throughout the Eastern U.S. and Caribbean, expanding the young company’s presence in refineries and plants throughout the Eastern industrial corridor.

Fast-growing ERS, a recent new venture by tank and vessel maker William A. Schmidt & Sons, has also added technical sales and distribution positions.

Engineered Resin Solutions, created by William A. Schmidt & Sons, produces high-performance industrial coatings for refineries, power plants, and the oil and gas and marine markets.

ERS makes high-performance novolac epoxy resin and urethane coating systems for the North American refinery, power plant, waste and wastewater treatment, chemical processing and marine markets.  Its portfolio includes products for extreme, water and concrete service environments, as well as floors and joints.

The coatings systems complement Schmidt’s machining, welding and fabrication services, Schmidt’s owners say. Both companies are based in Chester, PA.

New Distribution

Under the new agreement, agreement, ErgonArmor Technical Coating Solutions will sell ERS NovoCoat in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Mass, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Trinidad, St. Croix and Aruba.

ErgonArmor is part of Jackson, MS-based Ergon Inc., a crude oil processor, transporter and marketer of refined products and a producer and marketer of specialty asphalt products.

Executives Added

ERS has also added two executives to its team.

Chris Lehman will direct Technical Sales. Lehman has nearly 20 years of technical sales and sales management experience in the high-performance-coatings field, including stints with Belzona and Thortex.

Jon Kligerman will serve as Distributor Sales Manager. Kligerman has more than 20 years of related experience, including service at Rohm & Haas as Distribution Account Manager and in sales and technical service.

Kligerman’s background “qualifies him perfectly for this pivotal role in ERS’ continued growth as we grow both nationally and internationally,” the company said.
