Founded in 1964, Quebec-based Duochem is a privately owned company that produces polymer flooring products for a wide variety of industrial and architectural applications, as well as polyurethane waterproofing coatings and membranes for parking decks and concrete structures.
Duochem products are manufactured and sold primarily in Canada, with annual sales of about $9.7 million.
Sika said the acquisition would further strengthen its leading position and market penetration in the region.
‘Best Technologies’
“The merger will bring together the best of Duochem and Sika technologies, products, people, manufacturing and logistics to provide the most comprehensive, specification-supported offering in the polymer flooring and parking deck membrane markets,” Duochem said on its site.
Sika said Duochem had “built a strong reputation based on innovation and quality.” Initially, Duochem will continue to operate as a separate business unit of Sika Canada.
No immediate changes are planned to the company’s service, order placement, shipment, invoicing, payment, or technical and sales support processes and contacts. Duochem will continue to support all of its products.
