Blast-One says the output improvements are the result of mineral quality, hardness, shape and processing of the abrasive “gem” grains. The company says that the inert, silica-free mineral abrasive can cut waste by 66% while increasing blasting speed by up to 43%.
Focus on Efficiency, Safety
“Our clients are winning more jobs because they can get the job done faster, cleaner, and can drop their total blasting costs by a staggering 39% overnight,” said company vice president Brad Gooden.
He added: “[Our] whole focus was not only toward efficiency, but also safety. Speedblast doesn’t contain any heavy metals that coal slag or other waste products tend to have in them.”
Speedblast is “low dusting, because each grain is extremely tough,” said Gooden. “The abrasive is also washed in spring water during processing to ensure it is clean of impurities such as chlorides (salt), silt or clay. The final result is less dust, greater visibility, and less clean-up.”
The product can be collected and recycled up to 10 times after its initial use, according to the manufacturer.
Based in Columbus, OH, Blast-One International has provided blasting, cleaning, painting, inspection and other industrial materials and equipment to corrosion control and protective coatings industry for more than 35 years.
