Safway Services LLC has purchased bankrupt Waco Scaffolding & Equipment, a major provider of scaffolding and access equipment and services.
Safway acquired the company Nov. 10 in an auction as part of Waco’s bankruptcy proceedings.

“Purchasing Waco is an excellent fit for Safway,” said Safway President and CEO Marc Wilson. “The company has a long-standing reputation in the scaffolding business and many loyal customers. The sale was approved Nov. 14 in bankruptcy court and is expected to close by the end of the month.

Cleveland-based Waco Scaffolding & Equipment sells, rents, assembles and dismantles scaffolding and related access products for the construction and shipbuilding industries. The company was founded in 1945 and employs about 320 people in eight U.S. offices.
Safway Services was founded in 1936 by stonemason Reinhold Uecker, after he fell from a wooden scaffold where he had been working on a church steeple.
Today, the company provides scaffolding and access equipment and services for commercial construction, industrial and infrastructure applications through 85 locations throughout North America. Its lines include Safway Systems, QuikDeck Suspended Access System, SafAscent Wind Turbine Platform and the SafMax Frame System.
