Kunal Nadkarni is Hempel’s new Oil and Gas Segment Manager for the Group Marketing Team.

At Hempel, he will be based in Houston, TX, working in close coordination with Oil and Gas sales, marketing and R&D teams there and in the regions.

His aim will be to further develop the Oil and Gas segment in both mature markets (offshore, refineries, LNG, petrochemicals, storage tank terminals, transmission pipelines) and emerging ones (deepwater exploration, unconventional gas, oil sands).

GE, Citigroup Veteran

Nadkarni joins Hempel from GE Oil and Gas, where he was Global Product Marketing Leader. There, he focused on the offshore above-sea segment, especially on the FPSO market.  Most recently, he led GE’s Growth Play Book, a five-year strategic marketing outlook for the business.

Nadkarni began his career with Citigroup’s international business division in India. After that, he headed WSI Services’ pipe and tubulars business division for almost six years, in Houston, TX.

Nadkarni has a Master of Commerce degree from India, a Masters Diploma in International Business, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

‘A Key Role’

“Hempel is getting on board key people in order to reach [its] ambitious plans, and Kunal is one of them,” said Dimitris Likouressis, Group Protective Marketing Manager.  “We are excited to have Kunal onboard; he has great experience in global markets, business development and cost optimizations.

“Kunal will play a key role in guiding and coordinating efforts around the world to achieve our new and challenging goals within Oil and Gas markets.”

Based in Lyngby, Denmark, The Hempel Group is a leader in the production and sales of protective coatings within the decorative, protective, marine, container and yacht market segments.

Hempel has 23 factories, 48 sales offices, and 10 Research and Development centers worldwide.
