Coatings inspection instrument maker Elcometer has announced the opening of its first office in Japan.
The company’s seventh expansion outside its UK headquarters, Tokyo-based Elcometer KK “not only strengthens our commitment to the Japanese marketplace, but also expands our presence in this rapidly expanding region,” said Michael Sellars, Elcometer’s Managing Director.

The company said it has “long recognized the importance of Japan as a key global economy and, for over 40 years, has been proudly working with our network of distributors to meet the inspection equipment requirements of our Japanese customers.”
Sellars said the company had seen increased demand in recent years for its equipment, “which has led to significant growth around the world.”
Japanese Team
Elcometer KK, based in Minato-Ku, Tokyo, was established to provide distributors and customers with highly trained sales, service and support, the company said.
“All our employees at Elcometer Japan have at least three years of experience supporting Elcometer products and are committed to providing our customers with the highest levels of support,” said Colin Bennett, Asia Pacific Regional Sales Manager. “We are proud to be working with such a dedicated team.”
Established in 1947, Elcometer is a global provider of inspection equipment, with specialized divisions dedicated to coatings inspection, ultrasonic NDT inspection, concrete inspection and metal detection.
The company also has offices in Belgium, the Netherlands, France, the United States, Germany and Singapore.
