The new product is “processed from a sustainable, recycled copper co-product” designed for “optimum performance and consistency,” said Harsco Minerals, longtime manufacturer of the Black Beauty brand of coal abrasives.
‘The Right Alternate Abrasive’
“The industry demands more from Harsco Minerals,” said Dominic DeAngelo, the company’s global market manager for abrasives and roofing.
“We took our time to find the right alternate abrasive that not only meets federal leaching procedures, but also provides the same high quality, performance and reliability that our Black Beauty coal abrasives have provided for many years.”
The manufacturer calls the new copper slag product “another high-quality, high-performing, low-dusting, reliable abrasive from a name you can trust.” The low-free-silica, recyclable abrasive is available in extra-fine, fine and medium grades and in several packaging options.
