Spider, a division of SafeWorks, LLC, has launched what it calls the first modular 360° blade access platform, designed to be easily reconfigured for a variety of inspection and access needs.
The system breaks down into pickup truck loads, making it easy to transport to a job site, Spider says. Product animation shows how the platform is set up and used. The manufacturer calls the equipment “user inspired.”
The 360° platform is modular, stable and simple to install and operate, according to Spider.

Operators use simple manual winching, rather than powered systems, to access blade surfaces. The stabilization frame connects to the tower and eliminates ground-based tagline crews, allowing operation by just two people for most blade work. The wide, stable working platform has been extensively field tested, according to Spider.
Uptower Access
“Our blade contractor customers look to this platform as a no-brainer for their uptower work – easily configurable product to a range of jobs, 20 years of field-tested performance, easily rented from a trusted supplier, and simple to operate, own and source,” says John Sotiroff, Vice President – Spider Sales & Distribution.
“The modular, simple design of the 360° platform helps the O&M professional’s investment go farther and eliminates mobilizing expensive ground-based solutions.”
