Aremco Products Inc. has introduced Corr-Paint CP2070, a high-temperature, epoxy-novolac corrosion-protection coating designed for metal components and structures used in aircraft, automotive, chemical processing, foundry and power generation equipment.
CP2070 is the newest addition to Corr-Paint’s CP20XX Series, a line of epoxy- and urethane-based coatings made for corrosion and wear protection as high as 400°F.
Corr-Paint CP2070 is a two-part, gray-pigmented, 100% solids, epoxy-novolac system designed for applications up to 300ºF (150ºC).
Aremco says CP2070 adheres well to, and provides corrosion resistance for, marginally prepared metal surfaces. The coating is resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including acetic acid, jet fuel, alcohols, diesel fuel, gasoline, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, potassium chloride, sodium chloride, toluene and xylene.
It is also designed to provide good thermal shock, salt spray and UV resistance.
Mixing and Application
CP2070 mixes easily in a 2-to-1 ratio by volume, the manufacturer says. The coating can be applied using conventional spray equipment, brush or roller and cures fully at room temperature in 24 hours. Typical film thickness is 5-7 mils for a single coat.
Black, white, green, red, blue, yellow, brown and other pigments are available.
