Larson Electronics has introduced the Magnalight HAL-WCDE-4X1000, a stand-alone, 30-foot-tall light tower package with water-cooled diesel engine and 10,000-watt generator for areas up to seven acres in size.
The tower includes four Class 1, Division 2, 1,000-watt metal halide lights mounted atop a telescoping boom that can be extended to 30 feet in height and rotated 360 degrees. Larson says the unit is appropriate for industrial operations, oilfields, emergency services, large-scale event illumination, construction and mining.
Features and Specs
The trailer-mounted lighting system produces a total of 440,000 lumens of light. A 15-gallon fuel capacity allows uninterrupted operation for 12 hours without refueling.

The diesel engine features water cooling, key-operated starting, automatic low-oil-pressure and high-temperature safety shutoffs, dual fuel filters, and easy-access oil and radiator drain ports to facilitate maintenance, the manufacturer says.
A commercial-grade muffler system “provides the quietest operation possible,” according to Larson.
Fully extended with outriggers deployed, the light boom can withstand winds up to 65 mph, Larson says. Weatherproof light fixtures include cast aluminum housings finished with a polyester coating, heavy-duty gasket seals, impact-resistant glass lenses and corrosion-resistant hardware.
“For oilfield and other hazardous location areas, this Class 1, Division 2, light tower offers powerful wide area light output with long run times,” said Rob Bresnahan, of Magnalight.com.
