PPG Industries’ protective and marine coatings business has introduced veteran tank lining Phenguard for petrochemical and biofuel storage tank lining applications in the United States.
With PPG’s recent U.S. debuts of Novaguard and Sigmaguard CSF coatings, Phenguard enhances PPG’s range of U.S. tank lining options for all types of chemical storage. PPG’s Dr. Robyn McMillan recently discussed the Novaguard and Sigmaguard CSF products in a video.
|Although new to the United States, Phenguard has been in use worldwide for more than 25 years.|
Solvent-based Phenguard 930, 935 and 940 coatings provide a lining system for tanks storing a broad range of chemicals and refined products, including methanol, ethylene dichloride (EDC), caustic sodas, fatty acids and other highly aggressive materials.
The system includes:
· Phenguard 930, an off-white, two-component, high-build, amine adduct cured phenolic epoxy primer;
· Phenguard 935, a pink, two-component, high-build, amine adduct cured phenolic epoxy middle coating; and
· Phenguard 940, a light-gray (green on request), two-component, high-build, amine adduct cured phenolic epoxy finish.
With more than 20 million square meters applied in more than 25 years of service outside the United States, Phenguard is “the market leader,” PPG says.
