Jet Edge Inc. has unveiled its new iP60-150 waterjet intensifier pump, designed to produce up to three gallons per minute (11.4 l/min) of ultra-high-pressure water for precision water jet cutting and UHP surface preparation.
The 150hp, 60,000 psi unit supports orifices up to .025” (.64 mm) and features dual intensifier systems.
Design Changes
The iP60-150 includes numerous design improvements, Jet Edge reports. These include a kidney loop hydraulic cooling and filtration system, an anti-corrosive interior coated hydraulic reservoir, easy-to-remove lift-off covers, and touch-screen controls, the company says. The pump’s motor drive assembly has been mounted on an isolation system to reduce noise and vibration.

Like all Jet Edge waterjet pumps, the iP60-150 features Jet Edge’s tie-rod design. With no threaded cylinder, no threaded end caps, and no threaded hydraulic cylinder, the unit is less prone to cracking than threaded designs.
Hydraulic accumulators reduce wear on the hydraulic pump, and a rugged hydraulic center section incorporates high-duty cycle-rated piston seal and wear rings, the manufacturer says.
The company’s water jet pumps also feature attenuators to smooth pressure fluctuations and deliver a constant and steady stream of UHP water to the cutting tool. Jet Edge’s hydraulic systems have a 4,000-hour warranty.
Established in 1984, Jet Edge is a global designer and manufacturer of waterjet systems for precision cutting, surface preparation and coating removal. The company, based in St. Michael, MN, serves the aviation, aerospace and industrial manufacturing industries as well as machine and job shops.
