New Technology Coatings for Corrosion Control

Croda Coatings & Polymers has rolled out its latest green product: Priamine 1071, for protective and marine coatings. The curing agent has a low viscosity and meets a growing demand for the development of high-solid, low-VOC formulations, the manufacturer says.

Croda says the dimer diamine, bio-based building block provides good flexibility and chemical resistance needed for interior and exterior coating applications that demand durability under severe conditions.

Priamine 1071 is designed for durability under severe conditions.

The agent, designed for epoxy systems, can be used as main curative and co-hardener. The manufacturer says the material is a good sealant with protective properties and strong adhesive characteristics that help extend the coating’s lifetime.

Croda says Priamine 1071 offers:
  • Low viscosity, allowing for high-solid, low-VOC formulations;
  • Hydrophobicity, to improve sealant and protective properties;
  • High flexibility for impact and crack resistance;
  • Chemical resistance; and
  • Biobased, 100% renewable carbon content.
