Accumet Products, makers of measuring, testing and setting instruments, has launched coating thickness gauge series CM8801.

The palm-size instrument is designed for one-hand operation and is available with several options:
• It measures non-magnetic coatings such as paint, powder coatings, galvanizing and chrome plating on ferromagnetic substrates like iron and steel.
• It measures non-magnetic substrates such as aluminum, copper, brass and non-magnetic stainless steel.
Product Features
The unit does not need calibration for most applications and has a zero setting feature for rough and curved settings, the manufacturer says.
The built-in, wear-resistant probe recognizes base substrates automatically and has a V-groove for use on round/curved surfaces. The unit has a large, easy-to-read, LCD display and stores the last 10 readings for review, according to the supplier. The display is reversible when the instrument is used in an inverted position.
Two measuring units (micron or mil) can be selected, and an audio signal confirms measurements. The unit operates on a standard AAA battery and comes with zero plates, calibration foils, instruction manual and a storage case.
