Global Finishing Solutions has launched the Finishing Academy, an online paint booth educational resource.
The Finishing Academy site currently features three Automotive Refinish training modules:
• “Spray Booth Basics” offers an introduction to spray booths; an overview of spray booth design; and basic safety and regulatory information.
• “How to Finish in the Money” examines sources of contamination in paint shops, reviews samples of contamination generated by various sources, and identifies steps to reduce or eliminate contamination from each source.
• “Building the Perfect Shop” offers guidelines on designing and equipping a paint shop.
“GFS has always placed a great deal of emphasis on the importance of best practices in the operation and maintenance of your paint booth,” the company said in a release.
“This resulted in the development of the Finishing Academy, a place for new painters and spray booth operators to learn the mechanics of how booths work, and the essentials needed to produce perfect paint jobs in a contaminant-free environment.”
The site can also help veteran painters brush up on their knowledge of contamination control and proper usage of paint booth equipment, the company said.
