Dur-A-Flex has added Dur-A-Glaze MVP (Moisture Vapor Protection) moisture mitigation primer to its line of resinous flooring products.
The new, epoxy-based primer effectively reduces moisture vapor emissions in concrete slabs as high as 20 pounds per 1,000 square feet per 24 hours to less than three, thus allowing resinous floor systems to be installed on concrete slabs as soon as five to seven days after being placed, the company says.
Dur-A-Glaze MVP is designed for existing concrete floors where moisture vapor emissions exceed the allowable limits for epoxy floor installations. The manufacturer warrants this moisture reduction performance for a full 10 years.
High moisture levels in concrete are a constant challenge to flooring contractors, especially when trying to meet deadlines, the supplier notes. Dur-A-Flex says that a moisture mitigation system is “one of the most effective ways of meeting these challenges.”
With the addition of its own moisture mitigation system, Dur-A-Flex says it can offer contractors a single source for resinous flooring products and their warranty.
Dur-A-Glaze MVP is a two-part epoxy system available in one-, five- and 50-gallon containers. In most cases, a single coat will provide full performance protection, the manufacturer says.
