Coatings product testing and analysis firm CAS-MI Laboratories has named Sean Maggert to the position of Director-Technical Affairs.
He will be responsible for business development for both CAS-MI Laboratories and the CAS-MI Innovation Center.
Maggert has more than 10 years of experience in specialty chemical sales, product and technical support. He has worked with manufacturers in a wide variety of industries, including paints, coatings and inks.

‘Great Resource’
“He has experience with a broad portfolio of products, including powder coatings, resins, specialty and fine chemicals,” said David W. Riggs, P.E., president of CAS-MI Laboratories. “Sean will be a great resource for our CAS-MI customers that are seeking both analytical support and product development services.”
Maggert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Adrian College. He is an active member of the American Chemical Society and the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and Affiliates. He is also a member of the Michigan Chemistry Council (MCC) and the Powder Coating Institute (PCI), where he served as chairman of the Raw Materials Committee for several years.
CAS-MI Laboratories, based in Ypsilanti, MI, provides independent product testing and chemical analysis for the paints, coatings and polymer industries. Services include deformulation (reverse engineering), contaminant identification, failure analysis and materials testing. The CAS-MI Innovation Center provides product development and formulation services from concept to commercialization.
