Adi-Con CW Plus

W.R. Meadows and Gemite Products have introduced Adi-Con CW Plus, a dry, free-flowing powder admixture designed to make concrete watertight.

Adi-Con CW Plus contains a blend of inorganic and organic chemicals, a small amount of sand, and silica-based materials. The reactive materials react with lime generated by the hydration reaction of cement and plug the capillary porosity, making concrete watertight under water head pressure, the manufacturer says.

When mixed into concrete, the product is suitable for foundation waterproofing and all concrete waterproofing applications.

Features and Performance

Adi-Con CW Plus is an integral waterproofing admixture for Portland cement-based concrete and mortars. The chloride-free powder is easy to use, economical and increases chemical resistance, with minimal effect on setting times, according to the manufacturer.

In case anyone from W. R. Meadows is reading this, you need to contact Perez Brothers and Hawaiian Rock on Guam. Virtually everything on Guam is made of concrete and this would eliminate a lot of construction and maintenance problems.

There's a product called Cal-tite that purports to do the same thing, and it's been out for years. Only problem is, concrete cracks. The only sure way to keep your structure dry is with a membrane properly applied by a professional.
