Extreme Mobile Coatings’ anti-microbial “surface protector” powder coating has been approved by the National Sanitation Foundation International, clearing the way for its use in food service establishments.
The coating, approved under the NSF/ANSI 51 standard, provides anti-microbial protection on food dispensing equipment, and food preparation and food dispensing surfaces, the manufacturer says.

Extreme Mobile Coatings, a subsidiary of Structural Enhancement Technologies Corp., is a national franchiser of corrosion protection and anti-microbial coatings and services delivered and applied on site.
Franchises will be offered in the Eastern and Southern regions of the United States beginning this month. Later this year, the company also plans to offer a testing service for monitoring the efficacy of its coatings as a supplement to its application services.
The company is filing for further approvals by the NSF for its new line of “Nano Silver” liquid anti-microbial coatings.
EMC is based in Nicholasville, KY, and primarily serves the marine and health-care industries.
